Apostille in Greater Montréal: we come to you, the same day

You don’t drop anything off. You don’t mail an original you can’t replace. We pick your documents up at your home or office anywhere in Greater Montréal, run them through the notary, the Chambre des notaires and the Ministère de la Justice, and hand them back to you at the address of your choice. Pickup and delivery are included — not an add-on.

What makes this different

Most apostille services ask you to mail an irreplaceable original

That is the standard model in Canada: print a form, put your only copy of a birth certificate or a notarized declaration into an envelope, and hope. We think that is a bad deal, so we built the opposite.

We collect at your address

Home, office, clinic, your notary’s waiting room, or a relative’s kitchen table. Anywhere in Greater Montréal, usually the same day you call. You do not come to us and there is no drop-off point.

We deliver wherever you say

Back to you, to your office, to your lawyer or accountant, or to a friend or family member if you have already left the country. One address or three, it makes no difference to the price.

Included, not billed extra

Pickup and delivery inside Greater Montréal carry no surcharge, no fuel fee and no per-kilometre charge. Government fees are passed through at cost, with the receipt. The number we quote is the number you pay.

Your original never sits in a mailbox

It travels between our hands, the notary, the Chambre des notaires and the Ministère de la Justice. Nothing is entrusted to ordinary post at any stage, and you know where it is at every checkpoint.

Where we go

Greater Montréal, door to door

If you are inside this area, pickup and delivery are included. Outside it, we still handle your file — we simply arrange a tracked courier instead, at cost.

If you have already left

Living abroad, with documents still in Montréal?

This is a large part of what we do. Your file does not need you to be here.

  • We collect from whoever holds the documents — a parent, a sibling, your former notary, your accountant
  • We run the Québec chain: notarization where needed, Chambre des notaires authenticity certificate, then the apostille
  • We ship the finished document to you abroad, tracked, or hand it to a contact here if that is simpler
  • You approve everything by email; nobody has to take a flight

If the document has not been issued yet, that is a different problem and we handle it too — see document retrieval from abroad.

The Québec chain

What actually happens after we collect

1. Notarization, if your document needs it

A doctor’s letter, a declaration, a power of attorney — these are private documents and cannot be apostilled directly. We coordinate a partner notary, or work with yours if you already have one. Notary fees are billed by the notary, directly to you, with no markup from us.

2. Chambre des notaires du Québec

A Québec notarial act needs an authenticity certificate from the Chambre before the Ministère de la Justice will touch it. Standard is about 20 business days. The urgent service runs roughly 72 hours, and we file it in person the same day we collect.

3. Ministère de la Justice du Québec

The apostille itself. $66.50 per document, roughly 10 business days. Documents issued outside Québec go to their own province, or to Global Affairs Canada — we sort that out at pre-check so nothing is sent to the wrong authority.

4. Back to you

Delivered to the address you choose, in Greater Montréal at no extra cost, or shipped tracked anywhere in the world at the carrier’s price.

What we can’t do. We can’t make the Chambre or the Ministère move faster than their published service levels, and anyone who promises otherwise is selling something that isn’t theirs to sell. What we remove is every hour you would have spent driving, queuing, mailing and wondering — which on a Québec file is most of the elapsed time.
Common questions
Is pickup really free, or is it built into a higher price?
Our service fees are published on the pricing page and are the same whether you come to us, mail us, or we come to you. Greater Montréal pickup and delivery carry no surcharge. We would rather collect in person than have an irreplaceable original sitting in a mailbox.
How quickly can you collect?
Usually the same day if you call in the morning, and next-day otherwise. Laval and the island are fastest. Tell us your deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.
Can you deliver to somewhere other than my home?
Yes, and it costs no more. Your office, your lawyer, your accountant, a family member, or a friend holding things for you while you are abroad. One address or three makes no difference to the price.
I already have a notary. Can you still help?
Yes. We work with your notary, collect from their office after signature, and take it from there. We do not require you to use ours.
Do you handle documents from outside Québec?
Yes. The authority follows where the document was issued or notarized, not where you live. An Ontario birth certificate goes to Ontario, an RCMP check to Global Affairs Canada. We confirm the routing at pre-check, before any fee is paid.
Are you a law firm or a government office?
Neither. Viapostille is a private document-services company. Apostilles are issued only by the designated authorities, and we do not give legal or immigration advice.

Tell us where you are and when you need it

Send us the document list and your postal code. We confirm the routing, flag anything that would be refused, and give you a fixed all-in price and a pickup window. No deposit, no obligation.
