Apostille and certified translation, in one order and in the right order
An apostille is issued in English or French. If your document is going to Italy, Spain, Brazil, Korea or the Gulf, someone still has to translate it, and the receiving country decides who may sign that translation and whether it comes before or after the apostille. We run both steps in one file, with one contact and one written quote, so you pay once and nothing comes back for being in the wrong order.
Two steps, one chain of custody, one person accountable
The order is decided for you
Before anything is translated, we confirm with the destination's rules whether the translation goes after the apostille (most of Europe), alongside it (some Gulf and Asian institutions) or whether a Canadian certified translation is enough. You never pay for a translation an authority will not read.
The apostille certificate is translated too
Once attached, the apostille is part of your document. A translation that stops at the last line of your birth certificate or degree is the most common reason a file is sent back. Ours always includes the certificate, its stamps and its numbers.
Originals never travel twice
Your document goes to the authority, comes back to us, is scanned at 600 DPI, matched with its translation and shipped once, by tracked courier, to you, your lawyer or the receiving institution. No second envelope, no second courier fee, no gap where an original sits in someone else's inbox.
What the most common destinations actually want
These are the patterns we see most. The receiving institution always has the final word, which is exactly what the free pre-check confirms before anyone is engaged.
| Destination | Translation order | Who may sign | What we do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spain | After the apostille | Traductor jurado accredited by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs | Apostille in Canada, sworn Spanish translation of document and apostille, one package |
| Italy | After the apostille | Sworn translation (asseverazione) in Italy, or a translator accepted by the consulate | Apostille in Canada; we prepare the file so the translation can be sworn on arrival, or coordinate a consulate-accepted translator here |
| Portugal, Brazil | After the apostille | Certified translator for Portugal; tradutor juramentado for Brazil | Apostille in Canada, certified Portuguese translation including the apostille, delivered together |
| Mexico, Colombia, Latin America | After the apostille | Official translator (perito traductor) in the destination, or a Canadian certified translator where accepted | Apostille in Canada; we check acceptance of a Canadian translation first, which often saves a step abroad |
| South Korea, Japan, China | After the apostille, sometimes notarized | Certified translator; some institutions want the translation notarized | Apostille, certified translation, notarization of the translator's declaration when required |
| United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar | Authentication first, then legal translation | Legal translator licensed in the destination | Authentication and consular legalization in Canada; we tell you plainly to translate on arrival |
| France, Belgium, Switzerland | Often none for French documents | Sworn translator for English-language documents | Québec documents in French usually need no translation at all; we confirm before you pay for one |
The languages we translate most, from Canadian files
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Mandarin and Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi, Punjabi and Farsi. Other languages are quoted on request; rarer pairs take longer and cost more, and we say so before you order rather than after.
For files accepted with a Canadian translation, the work is done by a translator certified by a provincial order (OTTIAQ in Québec, ATIO in Ontario), with a signed and sealed declaration of accuracy. Where the destination insists on its own sworn translator, we coordinate that translator directly and your file is prepared so it can be sworn on arrival without a second trip.
One written quote, every line visible
Our service fee
$139 per submission, whatever the number of documents, for the routing, the forms, the filing, the follow-up and the scans. Québec notarized documents: $229, because of the Chambre des notaires step. Full pricing.
Translation
Priced per page and per language pair, and quoted exactly at pre-check once we have seen the document and the destination. The number on the quote is the number you pay.
Government fees and shipping
Government fees at cost with the receipt ($66.50 per document in Québec, $32 in Ontario). Shipping inside Canada is a flat $80 both ways; abroad, DHL Express at the live rate, quoted before anything is booked.
